For the last time, we are not a carnival.
The Creative Writer’s Guild began as a friendship between Tyler Barton and Eliot White at Millersville University in the spring of 2011. They would share poems and stories they had written and give each other feedback. They decided they wanted to build this kind of thoughtful relationship with other students on campus. The club began meeting in early April with about six writers from MU.
The Guild has since become an officially recognized MU organization with a total of roughly 35 members over the last academic year. They meet every Tuesday at 9pm in Chryst Hall. The purpose of these meetings is to bring writers together to share work, analyze writing, provide feedback and support, and develop professional and personal relationships. The CWG has hosted several poetry readings on campus and in downtown Lancaster over the last year and plans to continue organizing such events.
This blog is an archive for works written by members of the CWG. It is a place for finished pieces as well as works in progress. It is a place for writers to share and grow. Feel free to email us at mucreativewritersguild@gmail.com or check out our facebook group if you are an MU student and you want to get involved.
All of the pieces posted here are written by Millersville University/Creative Writers’ Guild students. Submissions from anyone outside of the Millersville/CWG community will be ignored.
Remember that all of the pieces that appear on this blog are the property of the writers and credit must be given where due.
Enjoy!
